Rentec Direct’s Q4 2025 quarterly product development update introduces features and enhancements designed to save you time with automated processes, streamlined accounting, and easy-to-use features.

As we move into 2026, we’re excited to share a full list of all our helpful updates, including Features, Enhancements, and Fixes that arrived in Q4 of 2025. In case you missed them when they were released, let’s dive into this quarter’s highlights and get an exclusive sneak peek at what’s coming next for your property management software!

Internally, our team categorizes updates in several ways: minor updates are referred to as fixes, Quick Fixes, Hot Fixes, or issue reports, while more substantial updates are called Features or Enhancements. Although we don’t report every fix or update to you, please be assured that our success and development teams work closely together to assess which updates can improve your workflow and save you time.

Rentec Direct Feature Updates, Fixes, and Enhancements

*Features/Enhancements*

  • Enhancement 4042 – New AI invoice and receipt scanning feature automates expense entry by reading data directly from your invoices and receipts.
  • Enhancement 4085 – Download and print the complete Lead List using a newly added link.
  • Enhancement 4087 – The new Message Menu provides options to Reply, Mark as Read/Unread, or Print for sent and received text messages and sent emails
  • Enhancement 4120 – Added a Show/Hide password button to client, tenant, and owner logins.
  • Enhancement 4172 –  Automate NSF Fees for ACH Payments with a new setting option for online ACH payments
  • Enhancement 4169 – Prevents Owner Disbursements for $0.00 
  • Enhancement 3925 – Redesigned the reconciliation process to speed up large bank reconciliations
  • Enhancement 4153 – Combined all Rent Roll Reports into one enhanced Rent Roll report 
  • Enhancement 4257 – Made the Property column visible, improving accessibility on smaller screen sizes (500px and wider)
  • Enhancement 4291 – Added dismissible message at the bottom of Mailing Manager Orders to inform subusers that their view is limited to only orders they have placed.
  • Enhancement 4289 – Swapped the Description and Check # columns in Post Income’s draft ledger to be consistent with the column order in other ledgers.
  • Enhancement 4105 – Refresh: App header and footer throughout the software
  • Enhancement 4134 – Refresh: Improve the sidebar menu
  • Enhancement 4177 – Refresh: Improve Notes & History header
  • Enhancement 4201 – Refresh: Make the statement and invoice appearance consistent across the report preview, printed copies, and downloaded files.
  • Enhancement 4176 – Refresh: Modify Buttons with increased padding and bolder text, among other adjustments.
  • Enhancement 4213 – Refresh Tenants, Properties, Bank Accounts, Owners, and similar pages

*Bug Fixes and Issues*

  • Fix 4167 – Ensure mobile users are redirected to the main login portal when signing out of the tenant or owner view.
  • Fix 4170 – Allow Group Messages with renters that have multiple cell phone numbers separated by commas.
  • Fix 4175 – Only allow switching to active accounts via the account menu.
  • Fix 4178 – From any report, you can use the global search tool to look up a transaction. To exit the search and return to your report, click Cancel.
  • Fix 4181 – Direct owners to the correct login page.
  • Fix 4182 – The Transaction History sort option label now aligns with the action “Delete.” 
  • Fix 4183 – Restrict the list of bank accounts shown in Bank Deposits to only the current account
  • Fix 4184 – Change the “Lease Signed” column in the Rent Roll to “Lease Begin.”
  • Fix 4188 – Fix visual glitches when opening or closing the sidebar in response to window-size changes.
  • Fix 4198 – Remove required password from subuser editing
  • Fix 4200 – Ensure data field selection is showing in text-message templates
  • Fix 4209 – Remove scrollbar from printed rental applications
  • Fix 4210 – Updated URL for merchant account instructions on the online payments page
  • Fix 4217 – Respect the user’s property-sort preference in the Pay Owner tool
  • Fix 4221 – Update tenant statements to hide Payable To field for Pro accounts
  • Fix 4225 – Display full check in print preview
  • Fix 4227 – Prevent modal dialogs, such as File Preview, from disappearing after opening.
  • Fix 4228 – Expand the preview in the Print Checks dialog to use the full available height.
  • Fix 4229 – Prevent sidebar work order count badge from growing too tall for some subusers
  • Fix 4234 – Make the edit screen fully usable and expanded for old user websites.
  • Fix 4236 – Fix spacing and design of layout in Scheduled Reports
  • Fix 4238 – Redirected Cancel button in settings, push notifications to go to the correct URL
  • Fix 4243 – Fixed Transaction History details layout
  • Fix 4248 – Fix Link to Forte in Online Form Request
  • Fix 4250 – Show tour button in sidebar footer
  • Fix 4251 – Updated the message displayed when attempting to archive a bank account that has merchant services enabled with instructions for requesting that the merchant account be closed.
  • Fix 4283 – Improved Notify leads modal
  • Fix 4286 – Display the correct description for consolidated identical lines in tenant statements.

Notable Product Update Recap

Each quarter, we look forward to sharing New Features and Enhancements introduced to the Rentec Direct software. Each one makes your daily operations easier and more efficient. However, there are always a few that we are excited to highlight and are sure to become fast favorites. 

Automated Non-Sufficient Funds Fees (NSF)

Non-sufficient funds fees will automatically post to tenant ledgers. Select the amount of the charge and when it is to be applied, and let the software work for you.

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Settings
  2. Under Financial, click on Online Payments
  3. Under ACH Settings, specify the fee amount for rejected or returned ACH payments 
  4. Select the Product (charge) to assign ACH-rejection fees to.

Automatically Post Expenses With the New AI Invoice and Receipt Scanner

Automatically enter expenses to your Rentec Direct account. Whether you’re at the hardware store, in your vehicle, or visiting a property, snap a picture of any handwritten or printed invoice or receipt and upload it to your Rentec Direct account. The software will post the expense and save a copy of the document.       

In your Rentec Direct account:

  1. Click on Banking
  2. Right-click on a bank and choose Post Expense
  3. Click on the Scan & Attach button to select an invoice or receipt
  4. Click on Continue to verify and update information as needed in the expense transaction, i.e., payment type, check #, memo, etc.
  5. Click on Post Expense

Easier Navigation With New Menu Updates

Rentec Direct’s Development Team is focused on a visual refresh to enhance the software experience. These subtle, impactful changes, including consistent design updates, are primarily aimed at improving readability and ease of access across all your devices.

Upcoming New Features

The Rentec Direct Development Team is working on several New Features and Enhancements. You might even recognize a feature or two as ones you’ve requested, for example:

  • Automatically add a street view image to the property thumbnails
  • New Flexible Pricing section for your Marketing Info to display any additional fees
  • Add the Lease Begin Date field when placing a tenant
  • Change Tenant Portal and Owner Portal passwords without having to save changes to the individual first
  • Open API for interconnection with other property management systems and apps.
