As we move into fall and the seasonal task shift, we’re excited to share the helpful updates that arrived in Q3 of 2025. In case you missed them when they were released, let’s dive into this quarter’s highlights and get an exclusive sneak peek at what’s coming next for your property management software!

Internally, our team categorizes updates in several ways: minor updates are referred to as fixes, Quick Fixes, Hot Fixes, or issue reports, while more substantial updates are called Features or Enhancements.   • Enhancement 4123 – Add owner contact information to property insurance reports

  • Enhancement 4091 – Category options: group in a consistent order by type, when Strict Accounting is enabled, remove the Uncategorized option in Post Income/Expense forms

  • Fix 4069 – Hide “Other” section in Operating Statement B when empty 
  • Fix 4125 – Fixed the error if sending a statement or invoice to archived renters 
  • Fix 4127 – Owner disbursements appear as a separate line item in Owner Statement reports 
  • Fix 4090 – Remove category 100 ‘Security Deposit’ from the Category menu in Bank Sync. Enhancement: Group categories in the Category menu in Bank Sync by type (E.g., Income, Expense). 
  • Fix 4098 – Updated rent calculations sent to RentReporters to better fit their intake modelling.
  • Fix 4108 – Overlapping “Date” and “Description” columns in Tenant Statement dialog 
  • Fix 4122 – Remove redundant “Owner Disbursement” line on Owner Statement reports 
  • Fix 3990 – Owner Statement report includes uncategorized and inverse transactions 
  • Fix 4113 – Show entire receipt in the Print Receipt dialog
  • Fix 4117 – Restore missing fields and buttons on the Make Deposit screen 
  • Fix 4107 – Hide property, bank account, and owner checklists in Permissions when Full Access is already selected
  • Fix 4093 – Create a Lease Expiration report when the selected owner has zero associated properties 
  • Fix 4086 – Restored the more info pages in Subscription Management
  • Fix 4083 – Show admin all mailings sent via Mailing Manager by subusers
  • Fix 4075 – Use the previous Statement Ending Balance for the following Statement Opening Balance in bank-account reconciliations
  • Fix 4173 – Ensure the order of statements in All Statements matches the order of properties in Property
  • Fix 4164 – List statements for renters of subunits once when viewing All Statements and filtering by Owner
  • Fix 4095 – Visual glitch when adding property image
  • Fix 4152 – Display reference number when editing a transaction 
  • Fix 4143 – Prevent some unwarranted system emails
  • Fix 4151 – Update references to “Need Help?” to “Live Expert Help” to match updated button text.

Security Updates

Rentec Direct prioritizes the security of your account and access to specific features. Enhancements that have been added this quarter include:

  • Identify Unusual Account Access: Monitor and identify unusual or potentially risky account access for all managers and users on your account.
  • New Authenticator App 2FA: Implement a new Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) option using an authenticator app for added security.
