Product Development Update Made Live in Q1 2026

We’re excited to share that Rentec Direct kicked off Q1 2026 with a range of new features and enhancements. These updates streamline day-to-day property management tasks. From boosting efficiency to helping you stay compliant and simplifying workflows, each update is crafted to save time and provide you with the tools and confidence to manage your properties with ease.


Your Rentec Direct Development team begins each improvement with Rentec Direct clients in mind. By collaborating closely with our support and onboarding teams, we listen to your feedback and continuously refine the platform to meet housing providers’ real-world needs.

Throughout the first quarter of 2026, we focused on meaningful improvements, including smoother navigation across the software, enhanced automation for mailing and emailing, and tools to meet industry compliance standards.

Internally, our team categorizes updates in several ways. Smaller improvements are referred to as fixes, Quick Fixes, Hot Fixes, or issue reports, while larger changes are released as Features or Enhancements. While we don’t publish every single update, rest assured that our Teams work closely together to prioritize which updates will have the greatest impact on your workflow so you can spend less time navigating the software and more time growing your portfolio.

*Features/Enhancements*

  • Enhancement 4270 – Adds a pricing section to Marketing Info that will be automatically included in syndicated sites to allow entry of FTC-mandated additional charges. Automate Fee Transparency for Rental Ad (FTC) Compliance.  
  • Enhancement 4329 – Display scheduled payments in the tenant’s Online Payments Activity Log
  • Enhancement 4158 – Enhanced system navigation with Remodeled Breadcrumb Options 
  • Enhancement 4256 – Add “Retry without address verification” button to Mailing Manager letters that fail due to an address-verification error 
  • Enhancement 4315 – Add pagination to bank sync to help with loading extra-large syncs 
  • Enhancement 4239 – Tenant and Owner portals must be enabled and saved before following the Log in as Tenant or Log in as Owner links. 
  • Enhancement 4285 – Streetview of properties automatically displays on the Property Card thumbnail. 
  • Enhancement 4327 – Add an Additional Charges section to be included in the Marketing Info description displayed on the Rentec Direct provided website and syndicated sites that don’t provide space for additional fees.
  • Enhancement 4310 – Add filter by date received, number, & assigned for repairs to the tenant portal 
  • Enhancement 4348 – Monthly Rentec Direct invoices automatically email
  • Enhancement 4300 – Change Tenant Portal and Owner Portal passwords without saving changes to the tenant or owner first 
  • Enhancement 4414 – Adds options to include/exclude archived users and empty balances on deposit reports

  • Fix 4296 – Only display edit warning message if user makes edits 
  • Fix 4373 – Fix printing the tenant payment receipt 
  • Fix 4372 – Fixed linking and unlinking bank accounts in Bank Sync while using a secondary account (as configured in Tools, Secondary Accounts) 
  • Fix 4367 – Fixed the error when printing the tenant payment receipt 
  • Fix 4249 – Updated 2FA on multiple tabs & multiple tab sync 
  • Fix 4355 – Resolved visual glitches in remodeled breadcrumbs 
  • Fix 4317 – Created an error message when entering transactions with amounts of 10 million or more 
  • Fix 4337 – Ensure tooltip hides with mouseleave
  • Fix 4325 – Disable edits for deposited security deposits 
  • Fix 4345 – Ensure email notifications are sent on the correct dates once the email notification setting is enabled 
  • Fix 4341 – Fix File Attachments on Batch transactions
  • Fix 4344 – Ensure correct count of leases expiring 
  • Fix 4368 – Make the modal larger on legacy deposit summary reports
  • Fix 4363 – Adjust width on Print Receipt Pop-up 
  • Fix 4423 – Fixed Zinspector inspections sync to include inspector names with a period (Mr.)  
  • Fix 4370 – Fix horizontal scroll in Owner Payments Wizard report when font size is larger than 14px by allowing text to wrap
  • Fix 4371 – Ensure the side menu closes when resizing the browser from a large size to a small size 
  • Fix 4402 – Ensure the tenant portal password can be issued on Safari

New Pricing Section to Marketing

We’ve added a new Pricing section to the Marketing page. Now landlords can itemize all rental-related fees and display a total on syndicated sites. This helps applicants avoid unaffordable leases while ensuring landlords attract income-qualified applicants. Fee transparency remains a top trend in the 2025 rental industry, according to the National Apartment Association (NAA).

Breadcrumb Navigation Enhancements

Among Rentec Direct Development Team’s ongoing enhancements are improved breadcrumbs with a modern design and clickable menus. This makes navigating through the Rentec Direct software faster and more intuitive.

Automated Invoice Email

A new Billing Email field has been added to “Your Contact Info” that lets you receive monthly invoices by email. Prefer not to receive invoices by email? Simply remove the address.
