What is the Tech Mastery Scholarship?
The Tech Mastery Scholarship is a scholarship created in 2016 by Rentec Direct to invest in the future of technology and its creators and thinkers. Nathan Miller, Rentec Direct’s president and founder, started Rentec Direct in 2007 using his coding skills to meet a need. He understands the power of tech skills and readily supports students who seek to make everyday life better by developing their tech skills and offering solutions to everyday problems.

Celebrating the Rentec Direct Tech Mastery Scholarship’s 10 Year Anniversary
Rentec Direct Scholarship Chair Kaycee Miller recently met with KOBI-TV NBC5 to discuss the scholarship’s history and how it has helped students as they foster success as professionals in the tech industry. Rentec Direct has been committed to supporting future technology professionals since 2016, awarding over $15,000 in scholarships to more than 30 students.
These scholarships are for students pursuing degrees in computer science, software development, and other technology-related fields. Over the years, Rentec Direct has continued to prioritize community engagement and giving back as a core value, earning the company recognition both locally and nationally for its philanthropic efforts.
Past recipients of the Rentec Direct Tech Mastery Scholarship have attended various institutions, including Oregon State University, Portland State University, Oregon Institute of Technology, and Central Oregon Community College.
The last 10 years of awarding financial assistance to tech students have paid dividends to the industry. Many graduates who received these scholarships have secured employment in the tech industry, including notable companies such as Apple, Microsoft, NASA, American Express, AT&T, DISH Network, Netflix, Pfizer, and Twitch.
