This detailed log includes critical data points designed to help you identify any suspicious activity:
- Time of Login: Pinpoint the exact moment each login attempt occurred, allowing you to cross-reference with your schedule and verify legitimacy.
- IP Address: View the unique Internet Protocol (IP) address from which each login originated, helping to identify unfamiliar networks or locations.
- Location: Beyond just the IP, the feature provides a geographic location associated with the login, offering a quick visual cue for unusual access points.
- VPN Status: You can identify if a Virtual Private Network (VPN) was used during any login. While VPNs are legitimate tools, their use in conjunction with other suspicious indicators could warrant further investigation.
- Risk Level: This crucial indicator assesses the potential risk associated with each login attempt. Leveraging advanced algorithms, Rentec Direct analyzes various factors to assign a risk score, immediately flagging connections that might be compromised or unusual.

Accessing Login History in Rentec Direct
Rentec Direct makes it easy for you to monitor logins for all users of your Rentec Direct account. Each manager and user can also view logins made with their information, and enhance security for even remote workers.
The following steps guide you through viewing recent logins.
Account Administrator
In your Rentec Direct account:
- Click on Settings
- Under Account, click on Login & Password
- At the bottom of the page, click on View Recent Logins
Subusers
In your Rentec Direct account:
- Click on Settings
- Under Account, click on Users (Managers & Users for PM Accounts)
- Click on the Manager to view account details
- At the bottom of the page in the Logins section, click on View

New Security Feature Coming Soon: TOTP
We are excited to announce that we will soon release a new authentication option, in addition to Passkey and SMS.
- TOTP – There are many apps out there, including Google Authenticator, Twilio, 1Password, and others that provide Time-Based One-Time Password two-factor authentication support. If you have remote employees who cannot set up a passkey, TOTP will be an excellent option for them as it is even more widely supported than passkeys in modern mobile and desktop platforms. We will be adding this as a two-factor option in the coming weeks.
