{"id":7487,"date":"2017-05-09T10:17:26","date_gmt":"2017-05-09T17:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rentecdirect.com\/blog\/?p=7487"},"modified":"2017-05-09T11:23:53","modified_gmt":"2017-05-09T18:23:53","slug":"multiple-deposit-accounts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rentecdirect.com\/blog\/multiple-deposit-accounts\/","title":{"rendered":"Multiple Deposit Accounts For ACH (Electronic Checks) and Credit Card Payments"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7498\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rentecdirect.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Multiple-Merchant-Accounts-for-Property-Managers-2.png\" alt=\"multiple merchant accounts\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rentecdirect.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Multiple-Merchant-Accounts-for-Property-Managers-2.png 560w, https:\/\/www.rentecdirect.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Multiple-Merchant-Accounts-for-Property-Managers-2-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.rentecdirect.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Multiple-Merchant-Accounts-for-Property-Managers-2-352x198.png 352w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/>We&#8217;re pleased to announce that you can now have\u00a0multiple deposit accounts tied to your merchant services. \u00a0This means you can now deposit payments received from your tenants for a certain property (or set of properties) \u00a0into separate accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Access to multiple merchant accounts will streamline your payment processing duties and makes it easier to pay your owners or receive funds for separate properties into their own corresponding account automatically. \u00a0This enhanced feature works with Rentec Direct&#8217;s merchant services which allow you to receive tenant payments online via e-check(ACH) and credit\/debit card.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Here are a couple\u00a0scenarios where multiple deposit accounts are\u00a0useful:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are managing multiple apartment buildings and each building has it&#8217;s own bank account. \u00a0You can now direct all inbound (and outbound if necessary) funds directly to the property specific bank account. \u00a0No more transferring funds!<\/li>\n<li>If you are a property manager and receive funds into separate bank accounts for each owner, you can now receive those funds directly into the appropriate account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How do multiple merchant deposit accounts work?<\/h3>\n<p>Banks normally will only deposit (or send funds) into one connected bank account. \u00a0This is a restriction in the credit card and automatic funds transfer (ACH)\u00a0banking industry, but Rentec worked with the banks and our funding partner, Forte, to come up with a solution around this limitation to better serve you.<\/p>\n<p>Rentec is now able to setup additional\u00a0merchant accounts for the same Rentec client, with each one pointed towards a different account. \u00a0We then connect the secondary merchant account to your additional bank account within Rentec Direct&#8217;s system, and all properties using that bank account as the default income account will automatically use the new merchant account and funds will be routed properly.<\/p>\n<h3>What does it cost?<\/h3>\n<p>Are you ready for some good news? For the majority of our clients asking for multiple merchant accounts, it will cost nothing! That&#8217;s right, you can get up to 5 merchant accounts free!<\/p>\n<p>We are including up to 5 merchant accounts free with every current Rentec Pro or Rentec PM subscription that manages 200 or more properties.<\/p>\n<p><em>If you are on an older (pre 2016) subscription plan, you&#8217;ll need to update to a modern plan first. \u00a0When you follow the\u00a0instructions below, it will prompt you to update your subscription.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Need more than 5 merchant accounts, or manage less than 200 properties? \u00a0No problem &#8211; the feature is still available to you at our monthly cost of just $15 per merchant account.<\/p>\n<h3>How do I get started?<\/h3>\n<p>Login to your Rentec Direct account and go to your Accounts tab.<\/p>\n<p>Edit the bank account for which you want to add merchant services.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure the account # is filled in, then scroll to the bottom and click the &#8220;Apply Now&#8221; link within the Online Payment Processing section.<\/p>\n<p>If you already have a merchant account setup you will be provided with the secondary account application, which you fill out and return to us.<\/p>\n<h3>Want more information?<\/h3>\n<p>Your Client Success team is always here to help.
