href=\"https:\/\/www.rentecdirect.com\/\">software<\/a> that allows you to specify a payment policy for online transactions from your tenants. \u00a0Previously a tenant could login to their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentecdirect.com\/blog\/2015\/08\/feature-friday-why-every-renter-needs-a-tenant-portal\/\">tenant portal<\/a> and make any size payment into their account. \u00a0Well, who would turn away money, right? \u00a0As it turns out a lot of property managers desire more control over this feature. \u00a0For example, if a tenant is undergoing an eviction, you don&#8217;t want to accept anything less than the full month&#8217;s rent otherwise you might be in jeopardy of extending their usage of your property. \u00a0Other landlords just don&#8217;t want to deal with partial payments. \u00a0With these scenarios in mind, we&#8217;ve added new EasyPay options available to you immediately.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Allow Any Payments<\/strong> &#8211; This will work the same as always and is the default (unless you change it). \u00a0Renters can make any size payment they want.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Require Rent<\/strong> &#8211; This will enforce the system to only allow a payment equal to or greater than their rent amount.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Require Balance<\/strong> &#8211; This option will only accept an online payment from the tenant if they pay their full current balance. \u00a0This could include rent, late fees, and any other monthly charges associated with the tenant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You&#8217;ll find these new options by editing the tenant&#8217;s EasyPay settings (right click on tenant, choose EasyPay). \u00a0You can also set a default option for all existing and new tenants\u00a0at Settings, Program Defaults, Advanced Settings. \u00a0Any setting done to a specific tenant will override the default so you can adjust your policy on a tenant-by-tenant basis.<\/p>\n<p>The only pre-requisite to use this feature is having a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rentecdirect.com\/details\/merchant_service.php\">EasyPay Merchant<\/a> account active. \u00a0If you aren&#8217;t setup for this already or are using EasyPay without a merchant
