Youth and Student Investment
Rentec Direct has sponsored programs that champion youth needs and foster youth excellence. In 2025, we have sponsored local children and students through community initiatives and programs such as the Boys and Girls Club, the Rogue Valley Young Marines, 4H, Future Farmers of America, Grants Pass Booster Club, Grants Pass YMCA, and various team sports.
For the holiday season, Rentec Direct continued its tradition of participating in holiday programs like the Toys for Tots and Salvation Army Angel Tree. This is the company’s 7th consecutive year supporting local children by participating in the Angel Tree Program. Over the past seven years, company and employee participation has helped brighten the holidays for more than 100 children and their families in Josephine County.
This year, Rentec Direct furthered its outreach with a community holiday party and toy collection event to benefit Toys for Tots. In collaboration with Weekend Beer Company, a local family-friendly brewery, the event offered free face painting, a photobooth, caroling, and visits from Santa. Anyone who brought a toy was offered a free treat sponsored by Rentec Direct as a thank-you for giving back during the holiday season.
Outside of the holiday season, the company supported the Grants Pass Children’s Museum as a sponsor of the First-Annual Living Room Invitational.
“Each event and sponsorship opportunity within our community for youth development is an investment we make into our future,” says Kaycee Miller, Rentec Direct’s co-owner. “These kids are able to play sports, enjoy safe after-school programs, participate in clubs and organizations, develop hobbies, and celebrate the holidays, all thanks to our incredibly generous community that supports these opportunities. I am proud that Rentec Direct and so many of our staff are passionate about contributing their time and resources to help.”
Rentec Direct Tech Mastery Scholarship
In addition to these local sponsorships, Rentec Direct makes a difference for students by offering scholarships in the technology industry. The Rentec Direct Tech Mastery Scholarship was given to three promising future leaders in tech for 2025.
This scholarship, offered annually since 2016, has assisted graduate and undergraduate students in pursuing a technology education by helping them achieve their academic dreams and future goals in the technology industry.
Nathan Miller, Rentec Direct’s president and founder, started Rentec Direct in 2007 on his own using his coding skills to meet a need. He knows first-hand the power tech skills can offer. As a result, Rentec Direct readily supports students who seek to improve their everyday lives by developing their technology skills and using those skills to solve everyday problems.
“The scholarship committee is continually inspired by the caliber of applicants each year,” says Nathan Miller, president of Rentec Direct. “This year’s recipients truly distinguished themselves with their creativity, drive, and dedication to the future of technology. Their stories and aspirations remind us why supporting the next generation of innovators is so important.”
This scholarship is offered annually, so if you know an Oregon student pursuing a degree in computer science or a related field, have them apply in 2025!

Additional Employee Volunteer Contributions
Employees at Rentec Direct gave back to their community in a variety of ways outside of company initiatives and community leadership opportunities. Employees at Rentec Direct are just as dedicated to their community outside of the office. These volunteer opportunities include additional volunteering for some of the organizations that other office employees and their families serve on the leadership team for.
For instance, Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, and in Josephine County, the Rogue Valley Young Marines help to host the event by accepting donations and assisting with the distribution. Besides Sha Lehmberg serving as the county’s coordinator, another employee volunteers alongside their child in the Young Marines, with the family collectively volunteering over 70 hours for the program’s success.
Additional employee volunteer work includes time spent supporting local senior citizens through meeting lawn care needs, employees who use their free time to support local Firewise programs and protocols, and volunteer work at local children’s programs through churches and local dance performances like the 34th annual Nutcracker performance.
With a year of giving behind us, Rentec Direct now looks for new and continued opportunities in 2025. With community engagement and giving back as a core value, there is no doubt that Rentec Direct and Rentec Direct’s employees will continue to give back and engage in a spirit of service locally and beyond.
